The Bird Collective

The Bird Collective explores the lives of birds and their connection to the natural world. Through intricate patterns, botanical details, and expressive linework, each piece captures a bird with its own personality, presence, and story. From the gentle stillness of a bird perched on a leaf to the energy of a hummingbird in flight, the collection reflects the many ways birds move through and interact with their surroundings.
Inspired by the relationship between birds, flowers, plants, and the environments they inhabit, each composition explores how the natural world is interconnected. Through my lens, I wanted to capture not only the beauty of birds, but also the distinct qualities that make each one unique. Just as birds have their own personalities, behaviors, and ways of navigating the world, we as humans each have our own experiences, qualities, and ways of being.
Some pieces evoke a sense of calm and sweetness, while others express strength, curiosity, or intensity. Together, they invite us to slow down, notice the lives unfolding around us, and recognize the beauty in our differences. Through these moments of observation, we can find opportunities to reconnect with nature, ourselves, and the quiet sense of peace that comes from simply being present.
Pieces of Lily was created as an exploration of the many pieces that make Lily who she is. From the calla lilies growing in the background to the water lilies floating across the pond, each element carries a different part of Lily into the composition. Even the pattern within the water is inspired by the design of a canna lily leaf.
Lily sits gently above the moving water, creating a sense of stillness and calm within the natural movement around her. She embodies a quiet sweetness and gentle softness, inviting the viewer to pause, take in her presence, and hopefully feel a little of that sweetness themselves.

Petals & Nectar captures the innocence, curiosity, and sweetness of a young hummingbird. Drawn toward a bowl of abstract fruit, the hummingbird moves through falling petals as it searches for a well-deserved treat.
The falling petals create softness and movement throughout the composition, while the patterns across the bird echo the surrounding petals, bringing the elements together. This piece celebrates the gentle curiosity of discovering something sweet and beautiful, while bringing a sense of lightness and purity into a space.

Still & Steel draws inspiration from the hibiscus flower and the textures of cobblestone. This composition places a still bird on a leaf, surrounded by intricate patterns and natural details.
The bird’s armored appearance gives it a quiet strength, while its stillness reflects the watchful nature of a bird observing its surroundings. It is calm but alert, sitting quietly, taking in its surroundings, and ready to defend its space. This piece brings intricate strength to the space where it hangs.

Fluttering Rose captures the energy and intensity of a hummingbird in flight. The falling roses were inspired by those moments when wind catches a flowering tree, sending petals fluttering through the air. She brings life and movement to any space.

Raining Daisies captures the energy of a storm through movement, while the bird’s connection to nature allows it to remain calm within it.
The shifting patterns and contrast in the sky, falling daisies, and dancing leaves all work collaboratively to create the feeling of a storm. Yet, the bird remains unbothered, symbolizing the storm as a natural part of its environment rather than a threat. This piece offers a reminder to its viewers to remain calm through life’s trials.
